History

Kunzite was officially discovered in 1902 by George Frederick Kunz, a renowned gemologist, and mineralogist. Its name comes from Kunz’s last name. Kunzite is a variety of the mineral spodumene and is known for its delicate pink to violet hues. The color is due to the presence of manganese. Kunzite is considered rare and is found in countries such as Afghanistan, Brazil, Madagascar, and the United States.

Various cultures throughout history have valued Kunzite for its emotional healing properties. In ancient times, it was believed to be a gift from the gods, bringing love and compassion to its owner. Proper Care

To cleanse, use lukewarm running water and mild soap with a soft cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or ultrasonic cleaners. Place next to or on selenite to spiritually cleanse. Sage/smudging and palo santo will also cleanse your crystal and release negative energies. To charge, place in/on a selenite plate or bowl, in the light of the sun, or the full moon for 6-8 hours. To amplify Kunzite’s energy, place near Clear Quartz, wear with Clear Quartz, or place on a Clear Quartz plate.
