Serpentine: The Stone of Transformation & Kundalini Energy
Serpentine is a beautiful group of minerals known for its earthy shades of green, yellow-green, olive, brown, cream, and nearly black. Its smooth, sometimes waxy appearance and swirling natural patterns often resemble the skin of a serpent, contributing to both its name and mystical symbolism.
Known as a stone of transformation, spiritual awakening, healing, and energetic renewal, Serpentine is believed to help release old patterns while encouraging personal growth and positive change. It is especially associated with Kundalini energy, making it popular for meditation, chakra work, and spiritual development.
Serpentine is a meaningful choice for anyone seeking renewal, emotional balance, spiritual growth, grounding, and deeper connection with Earth energy.
History & Lore
The name Serpentine comes from the Latin serpens, meaning “snake,” referring to the stone's green coloration and serpent-like patterns.
Serpentine has been used for centuries in carvings, decorative objects, jewelry, and spiritual practices. Because snakes have long symbolized rebirth, transformation, wisdom, and renewal, Serpentine developed similar symbolic associations.
In modern metaphysical traditions, Serpentine is particularly connected with Kundalini awakening, energetic cleansing, transformation, and releasing patterns that may be preventing personal or spiritual growth.
